How to arrive at your Lake Como wedding by boat

A boat arrival is not only beautiful: on Lake Como it is often the most practical way to move between the church, the villa and the hotel. Roads are narrow, parking is limited and many venues share the same waterfront. The water avoids all of that.

For the couple, the boat becomes a private room before the ceremony. For the guests, it is the first impression of the day. For the photographer, it is the set that needs no decoration: mahogany, water, mountains and light.

We always start with the full schedule. The ceremony time sets the arrival at the church or villa; from there we count backwards to the boarding time and add a buffer for hair, make-up and the unexpected. We also check the jetty: some villas have private docks, others use a nearby landing. Knowing this in advance is what keeps the day calm.
